Hi all! I’m Maddie, and I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to support children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges, transitions, and personal growth. I believe therapy should be a space where clients can show up authentically, feel genuinely understood, and develop the confidence and tools needed to build a fulfilling and meaningful life. My goal as a therapist is to create a warm, judgment-free environment where clients feel comfortable exploring emotions, building self-awareness, and learning practical skills they can carry into their everyday lives to help them live healthier, happier, and more fulfilling lives.
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from University of Georgia. Throughout my clinical experience, I have worked with children, teens, and young adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, trauma, self-esteem concerns, interpersonal challenges, school and academic stress, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions.
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based, collaborative, and tailored to the unique needs of each client. I pull from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, interpersonal approaches, mindfulness-based techniques, play therapy, and art-based interventions.
I have experience leading both individual and group counseling sessions, teaching social skills, and helping clients strengthen emotional regulation through interactive and developmentally appropriate approaches, including games and experiential activities that allow skills to be practiced in real time. I believe therapy can be both meaningful and engaging, and I love helping clients learn and grow in ways that feel approachable and authentic to them.
One of the things I value most, both personally and professionally, is balance. I believe in living with the same balance, mindfulness, and self-compassion that I encourage clients to cultivate for themselves. Life can feel overwhelming at times, and I understand how important it is to slow down, care for ourselves, and give ourselves grace while navigating everyday challenges. I strive to meet clients exactly where they are, helping them build healthier ways of responding to stress and challenges rather than expecting perfection. My background in crisis intervention work with survivors of sexual assault further deepened my passion for creating a therapeutic space rooted in empathy, safety, authenticity, and genuine human connection. My hope is to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their self-esteem, and feel more empowered to become the most authentic version of who they are.
Clients can expect a therapeutic space filled with warmth, curiosity, authenticity, and support. Whether we are processing difficult emotions, practicing coping skills, navigating relationships, or simply creating space to feel heard, my goal is for clients to leave sessions feeling supported, empowered, and hopeful about their growth. I am truly excited to walk alongside clients and families throughout their therapeutic journey.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy staying active, spending time in nature, reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, spending quality time with family, friends, and my pets. I value authenticity, humor, balance, and meaningful connection both in life and in therapy, and I strive to bring those qualities into every session.
