Susie Clifton

Licensed Associate Professional Counselor

678-310-0358 Ext. 2018

Hi all! My name is Susie, I am a psychotherapist, and I am honored to support children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate the complexities of growth, healing, and identity. As someone who grew up in the Metro-Atlanta area, I have a personal understanding of the difficulties today’s adolescents and young adults are facing. My clinical experience includes working with grief, trauma, anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and crisis care.

I approach therapy through an existential lens, centering the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for healing. My work draws from a wide range of evidence-based approaches, including person-centered, Adlerian, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, multicultural approaches, and trauma-informed care. I also integrate play and art techniques to support clients in expressing and processing emotions beyond words. Clients can expect a warm, judgment-free space where they are met with genuine presence, care, and curiosity.

I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Auburn University, where I also minored in Business and Counseling. My training includes Applied Suicide Intervention Skills (ASIST), Psychological First Aid, and certification as a Clinical Trauma Professional.

Above all, I believe that meaningful, authentic connections foster transformation. It’s my hope that clients leave each session feeling more grounded, empowered, and supported on their path to personal growth and wellness.

Susie is under the supervision of Kristina Murr, LPC, CPCS.
