Hi, I’m Susan!
I know how hard it can be to make the decision to seek help. I’ve been grateful to have therapists offer a nonjudgmental space and unconditional encouragement and support through some pretty difficult times. It helped me feel understood and propelled me forward, and it’s what I strive for with every one of my clients.
One of my areas of specialty is working with women facing anxiety, parental stress and burnout, from managing all the things and trying to live up to unrealistic expectations. I’ve lived it and know how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. If you’re feeling it too, know you’re not alone. And together, we can develop good coping strategies that can help.
I also enjoy helping clients navigate life transitions, whether it’s a career change, the birth of a child or an empty nest. Even the most exciting milestones can bring unexpected feelings and challenges. If you’re struggling with change, no matter how big or small, we’ll work together on your goals so you leave each session feeling heard, capable and equipped.
In addition to these areas, I have experience in community counseling, supporting clients in their goals to manage anxiety, relieve depression, deal with chronic illness and cope with grief. I’ve also worked in a college counseling center, helping students foster independence, navigate relationships, establish healthy communication and set appropriate boundaries.
My therapeutic approach is authentic, compassionate and encouraging. Most importantly, it’s collaborative and speaks to your unique experience. I draw from different modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices and solution-focused techniques, to help you discover new insights, learn practical skills and tap into your strengths — so you can live the life you envision for yourself.
