Naomi Soto

MS

678-310-0358 Ext. 2012

Naomi Soto provides a warm, compassionate, and individualized approach to therapy, creating a safe and supportive space where children, teens, young adults, and families can feel heard, understood, and accepted. She believes every client and family is unique and works collaboratively with them to understand their individual strengths, needs, and experiences.

Naomi has experience working with children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, ADHD, autism, depression, trauma, school-related difficulties, social challenges, and difficulties managing emotions. She helps young clients better understand themselves, develop healthy coping skills, build confidence, and learn practical strategies for navigating challenges at home, at school, and in their relationships.

Naomi also enjoys working with parents and families. She helps parents develop effective parenting strategies, strengthen communication, and better understand and respond to their child’s emotional and behavioral needs. When appropriate, Naomi incorporates family sessions into therapy, including with families of younger children, to help create positive changes that extend beyond the therapy room.

With a background in art therapy, Naomi frequently incorporates art, play, and other creative interventions into her work. She recognizes that children do not always have the words to communicate what they are thinking or feeling, and creative approaches can provide another way for them to express themselves, process difficult experiences, and develop new skills. She also utilizes evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), adapting treatment to each client’s developmental level, personality, and individual needs.

Naomi has experience facilitating therapeutic groups for a variety of ages and needs, including groups for young adults experiencing significant emotional and behavioral challenges, middle school boys, and children and adolescents working to strengthen social and communication skills. Her group experience complements her individual and family work and has given her additional experience helping young people develop healthier relationships, improve communication, and feel more confident connecting with others.

Naomi holds a Master’s degree in Positive Psychology from Life University, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She provides therapy in both English and Spanish.

Naomi is committed to building a trusting therapeutic relationship with each client and family and helping young people develop the emotional awareness, confidence, coping skills, and communication skills they need to navigate life’s challenges and experience meaningful growth.

Naomi is under the supervision of Kristina Murr, MS, LPC.
