Hi! My name is Alleyna R. Alleyne and I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Counseling Psychology. I am fully licensed as an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold a deep passion for honoring the unique individuality of each client I work with. My therapeutic approach is holistic and eclectic, tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual. I integrate person-centered therapy, art-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and reality therapy to create a personalized journey that promotes growth and healing. I believe perception is essential to our mental well-being and that distorted perceptions can block the ability to experience joy. Through mindfulness and realism, I help clients achieve their goals.
When working with children and teens, I fuse art therapy and other expressive interventions as alternatives to traditional talk therapy. My goal is to support and advocate for my young clients as they grow and learn to become their best selves. I work with children and teens on issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, self-esteem, ADHD, and other emotional challenges. I help them develop coping skills, manage impulsivity, improve attention and focus, and express themselves through creative techniques. I also facilitate art-informed CBT groups for children and teens, empowering them to express themselves and address emotional well-being through creative outlets. These groups focus on social skills, mindfulness, self-esteem, and anxiety coping mechanisms.
With young adults and college students, I focus on providing support during their transitions into new roles, such as careers, peer relationships, and overall life adjustments. As a multiethnic therapist, I am committed to establishing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all of my clients giving space for honesty and the exploration of their racial or ethnic identities. I also enjoy working with and offering a supportive space for high-performing individuals and children of high-performing parents.
During our sessions, I use soft music to create a calming atmosphere and help when words aren't coming easily.
When I’m not at work, you can find me taking walks in nature, enjoying music, and trying new foods with friends. You can also catch me writing, getting lost in a book or even playing a video game. I enjoy various activities that bring me peace and inspire me to explore new ideas and perspectives.
In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about mentoring students pursuing careers in psychology. I mentor graduate counseling/psychology students and am an active member of the Owl Mentor Network at KSU. Guiding the next generation of mental health professionals is a deeply fulfilling part of my work.
