Megan Heller-Foley is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Georgia who specializes in treating children and families experiencing depression, anxiety, postpartum mood disorders, ADHD, and OCD. She provides individual sessions, family sessions, and support groups and uses a variety of treatment techniques including play therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and art therapy. Megan has specialized training in neuroscience which helps her provide unique and client-centered treatment plans.

Megan also has extensive experience working with people of all ages going through grief, loss (including infants and suicide), and chronic illness. Her background in medical social work in the hospital setting taught her how to understand and meet the needs of clients dealing with grief, loss, and illness.

Megan is a Brainspotting Level 2 therapist. Brainspotting looks different from typical talk therapy. It is a relational, brain-body, and mindfulness-based practice. It has long-term healing effects for trauma, anxiety, and other issues. Megan is an active member of the Southeastern Brainspotting Institute, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and expanding the use of Brainspotting as an effective therapeutic modality.

In addition, Megan is certified in the Safe and Sound Protocol, which combines music, movement, and multi-sensory input. This treatment is non-invasive and does not involve any medication. It can help clients improve memory, concentration, organization, and social skills, and decrease anxiety. The Safe and Sound Protocol is administered using over-the-ear headphones in 30-60-minute increments.

Megan has received extensive training in postpartum mood disorders from Postpartum Support International. In 2018, she started a support group for new moms which meets weekly to help new moms cope with the transition to parenthood.  Megan enjoys helping moms find their new normal in all stages and transitions of parenting.

Megan is an expert on the unique challenges of neurodiversity including Attention Deficit Disorder and Autism. Listen to Megan's podcast on Understanding Autism and ADHD in Women.

Megan graduated from Reinhardt University in 2009 with a Bachelors in Psychology. She went to Kennesaw State University for her Masters in Social work, becoming fully licensed as an LCSW in 2018. She has over 10 years of experience in behavioral health.
