Ashley Hooper is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Georgia who has experience treating a multitude of clients, ranging from adolescents to adults. She specializes in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, and PTSD. Additionally, she has extensive exposure working with clients in substance use and domestic violence. Ashley provides individual and family therapy. She offers both virtual and in-person sessions.
Ashley obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology and her Masters of Statistics. Years later, pursuing her love of psychology, she returned to school for her Master’s in Social Work. During her time in her program, she was trained in topics such as trauma-informed care and completed a rigorous program that focused on topics which included family therapy, clinical practice, psychopathology, and human behavior. She graduated with honors.
Ashley has experience in various clinical settings, including working in environments relating to domestic violence and DUI/Drug court programs. She has worked for community mental health in a counseling setting, utilizing Trauma Focused CBT. Ashley’s experience during her internship informs her work with her clients seeking therapy for trauma and PTSD. While completing her Master’s, she volunteered for a behavioral health facility where she worked primarily with adolescents.
In addition, Ashley has also worked in an elementary school setting. The experience has helped her truly understand the ever-changing social, emotional, and mental demands that children can have on a daily basis. This has prepared her to work closely with adolescents and foster an efficient and productive therapeutic environment.
She utilizes a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused, crisis-oriented, motivational, and narrative therapy. She identifies client strengths and embraces the individuality of each person.
Ashley serves all clients in Georgia, including the areas of Marietta, Sandy Springs, Vinings, Kennesaw, Woodstock, Acworth, Mableton, Austell, Dunwoody, Smyrna, East Cobb, West Cobb, and Buckhead.
Ashley’s goal is to establish a welcoming and supportive environment for her clients. She is most passionate about helping her clients feel understood and validated. She believes that therapy can transform individuals into the best version of themselves and she would be honored to help you through this journey.
